Eric Heisserer is a published American author. He grew up in the U.S. in the state of Oklahoma. There his father was employed as a professor at Oklahoma University, where he taught ancient history. Eric started his career in writing off in 1995. He started with different tabletop game modules and switched over to screen writing in 2000. This is when he sold his first feature script, which was purchased by Artisan Entertainment. Since then, Eric has penned scripts for many different feature films. These include the 2016 movie Arrival, which was based on the short story by Ted Chiang entitled “Story of Your Life”. He has worked as a show runner on Shadow and Bone, the Netflix series, which was adapted from the Grishaverse books by Leigh Bardugo. Simultaneous is a 2025 novel by Eric Heisserer. Eric Heisserer is the author of over 4 books across 3 series. Their most famous work is the Publication Order of Standalone Novels series, which has garnered millions of readers worldwide.
